Airspace: La Clusaz & Grand-Bornand (Aravis)
Airspace:
La Clusaz & Grand Bornand
The reference guide for flying safely. Visual flight rules, protected areas, and air ceilings.
- See and Avoid: You must always be able to see other aircraft to avoid them.
- Out of the clouds: It is strictly forbidden to fly IN the clouds (you lose visibility, possible collision).
Respect vertical and horizontal distances.
Rule of avoidance to the right in head-on situations.
The Aravis are home to the Bearded Vulture, a protected species. Specific zones (ZSM) are defined (Bargy / North Aravis).
The Rule: It is forbidden to fly at less than 300m in height (above ground) within these zones.
🌿 By respecting these zones, you ensure the sustainability of our flying site.
✅ Very little Restricted Airspace!
This is the immense advantage of the Aravis: we have great freedom of flight.
The ceilings are very high (over 4000m) directly above the stations.
This is the area that directly concerns us at takeoff and on the ridges.

Before each flight, check for any temporary restrictions (Military exercises, ZRT, etc.) via the NOTAM.
